A major expansion project that involves doubling the ammonium nitrate production at the Kwinana plant in Western Australia. The existing plant will be duplicated at a cost of about $200 million to increase capacity to a world-scale 470,000 tonnes per annum.
Ammonium nitrate is the main material used to produce commercial explosives and is also a key component in liquid fertiliser.
CSBP Limited engaged Shedden Uhde and its German parent Uhde GmbH to undertake key engineering activities associated with the ammonium nitrate prilling plant, which will use Uhde technology. Uhde will provide basic engineering and other specialist services with Shedden Uhde providing detailed engineering and technical procurement services.
