Project: BP Nam Con Son Gas Plant

Dinh Co, Vietnam

The Nam Con Son Gas Project, the largest energy project ever undertaken in Vietnam, was developed by a joint venture of BP (Manager), PetroVietnam and Statoil. It features offshore structures plus a 2-phase sub-sea pipeline to deliver gas and condensate from the Eastern Sea some 350km south east of Vung Tau to an onshore treatment plant at Dinh Co. From there the separated gas is transferred to a metering station at Phu My for distribution to customers.

Shedden Uhde undertook the detail design of the onshore gas treatment plant and gas metering station as well as assistance for vendor liaison, commissioning planning and on-site technical assistance during construction & commissioning. The treatment plant has a capacity of 356 mmscfd (approx 390 TJ/day) and consists of slug catchers, low temperature separation, gas-liquids stabilisation and condensate stabilisation.

Debottlenecking

At commencement of involvement Shedden Uhde were requested to debottleneck the FEED package. Throughput was increased by 20% for minimal additional capital investment.
