Caltex Fuels Project

Project: Caltex Clean Fuels

Sydney and Brisbane, Australia

Shedden Uhde is teamed with Parsons E&C of the USA to perform the front-end engineering design (FEED) and EPCM services for a series of clean fuels projects for Caltex Australia Ltd. at their two refineries on the east coast of Australia. The Lytton refinery in Brisbane and the Kurnell refinery in Sydney require significant modifications to enable them to produce gasoline and diesel fuels that will comply with future fuel quality specifications that will be mandated by Australian state and federal governments. The FEED work was performed by Parsons E&C in Arcadia (California) and then the project execution which included detail design and construction management transferred to Shedden Uhde Melbourne’s office.

The scope of the projects includes a diesel hydrotreater revamp, grass roots light reformate benzene hydrogenation, sour water system debottleneck, and extensive offsites and utilities piping modification at Kurnell. Projects at Lytton include LCO hydrotreater revamp, grass roots light reformate benzene hydrogenation, and offsites and utilities piping modifications.
