TOL Biodiesel Milestone

On December 4, 2007 a significant milestone was reached when the first batch of biodiesel was produced at the new Uhde and Shedden Uhde Thailand designed plant for TOL in Map Ta Phut. This project had a difficult start but the project team regrouped, put the past problems behind them, and were finally able to achieve what many had thought impossible. With engineering carried out in India and in Thailand and with procurement divided between Dortmund, Thailand and India this truly was a global project. Staff from the Energy Department of Thailand were on hand to witness the historic moment of the first pouring and to take part in the celebrations afterwards. The project had special significance and pressure put on it when it was dedicated to the King of Thailand and had to be completed by his birthday on December 5.
